Create Your Own RSS Feeds Using Free Software

ListGarden

ListGarden is an RSS Feed Generator Program that was developed by Daniel S. Bricklin to create and maintain RSS feeds. The program is free and available in both Windows and Mac OS X formats.

The program is fairly straightforward to use. Excellent documentation including sample screen images is provided on the product web site. It requires no knowledge of the RSS data format to create a feed. This is the program I am currently using to create and maintain RSS feeds.

RSS Builder

RSS Builder is an RSS Feed Generator Program that has gone through several releases. There is not much documentation provided but the program appears to be easy to use.

In order to install RSS Builder, you must first install Microsoft's .NET Framework under your Windows operating system. You must also install the latest service pack and critical updates for the version of Windows you are running. The easiest way to do this is to use the Windows Update service. You need to be running a version of Internet Explorer 5 or higher in order to use Windows Update.

RSSeditor

RSSeditor was released in a stable Beta Build version 0.1 for Windows. It requires Internet Explorer 6.0. No detailed documentation is available for the Beta release.
